Student Registration Policy
Introduction
The status of being "registered" in an academic session as a student at NABT shall be achieved by meeting criteria determined by the Academy Coordinator from time to time, and shall require that a student:
  • satisfy the academic requirements for enrolment in a chosen programme
  • be enrolled in an academic programme, and
  • has paid fees or exhibited such other intention to pursue a course of studies as may be determined to be sufficient from time to time.
Information, Policies and Procedures Related to Student Registration:
  • Registration is the process whereby all students formally agree with the Academy their approved programme of study leading to a named award. It is at Registration that the student confirms their course choices and agrees to abide by the Academy Regulations and the Principal Conditions of Registration.
  • A student will be registered on an approved programme of study following the successful completion of the Academy's Admissions process or, for continuing students, having satisfied progression requirements.
  • A student must complete all the constituent parts of the registration process before attending lectures. As evidence of completing the registration process and formally registering on an approved programme of study, students will receive a Academy Enrolment Letter. Students are asked to carry this at all times and produce it upon request.
  • All new students will be required to provide the Academy with original documentary evidence of qualifications used to gain admission and proof of identity. All new students will be required to provide and confirm their personal details.
  • All new students will be required to participate in the induction programmes provided by the Academy and agree their course choices for the Academic Session.
  • Upon Registering, students will be issued with an approved Enrolment Letter, listing the courses on which they are studying for the Session/Semester and associated fees.
  • Students who are unable to complete their registration at the allocated time or by the published deadline will not have full access to Academy facilities. However, in exceptional circumstances students may be allowed up to a maximum of two weeks to complete their registration. Students who fail to produce the necessary documentation and/or evidence to complete their registration by the agreed deadline will have their eligibility to register removed.
  • Students may not register concurrently for more than one programme leading to a recognised award.
  • The Academy reserves the right to rescind the Registration Status of any student who has provided false information, made any misrepresentation and/or provided counterfeit or forged documents in respect of an application for a place at the Academy, tuition fees assessment, Mandatory or Discretionary Award, DfES Bursary or means-tested student financial support.
  • The Academy also reserves the right to withhold re-registration for students with outstanding financial obligations and to rescind the Registration Status of any student for the non-payment of tuition fees. (See Academy's "Policy on Cancellation Of Student Enrolment for Non-payment Of Fees.")
  • Students who formally withdraw from their studies must inform the Coordinator by completing the appropriate documentation, confirming the last date of attendance. Otherwise, the Academy will take the date of withdrawal as being the last confirmed attendance supplied by instructor.
  • Students are not generally entitled to change courses after Registration. However, with the agreement of the Instructor, changes can be made within the first two weeks of each Semester. A change or amendment to a programme is not valid until the Coordinator has completed the appropriate authorised documentation. A student may transfer from one programme to another, subject to academic approval. Such transfers will necessitate a change to the student's registration details and require the completion of appropriate documentation duly authorised. Transfers between programmes can only occur at the end of a semester or academic year.
